Corrosion Testing

The study of corrosion at Fort Wayne Metals allows us to observe the breakdown of our products in order to predict the weakening or destruction of metals over a long period of time in a simulated biological environment. A Cyclic Polarization Scan is analyzed in order to find the corrosion rate of a material and the prospective for any pitting, a more severe and harder to predict form of corrosion. This information allows us to evaluate our products and how they will withstand corrosion when introduced in the human body for an extended period of time.
